A family owned farm, focusing primarily on Vanilla Since 2019

Vanilla vines can take 3 to 7 years to flower. Alaula farm's Vanilla orchids have been growing under contract since 11/2019 by HawaiisSimpleGormet.

Grown, packaged and made entirely in Hawaii utilizing 100% Hawaiian Grown Ingredients. Even the extract alcohol will be produced and distilled on the farm from local corn, grains or potentially kiawe bean pods.

Supporting Local Hawaiian Economy

Plants Before Breaking Ground?

Even before the first shovel hits the ground, our Vanilla Plants will be well on their way to maturity. Alaula Farms has contracted with local vanilla growers to jump-start the process.

Local Sources

Alaula Farm will source local products including grain for extract distillation, packaging, labeling and bottles whenever possible.

Distilling Extract Base

Locally sourced corn will be distilled with a micro-still on manufacture the base material for vanilla extract. An interesting possibility is distilling kiawe bean pods, widely available on North Kohala, into kiawe beer which can then be distilled into extract base.
